Résumé Durant sa période londonienne, Haendel avait une chanteuse favorite, Giulia Frasi : la jeune soprano Ruby Hughes lui rend hommage dans un florilège d'airs magnifiques Soprano remarquée dans le répertoire Renaissance et baroque, la jeune chanteuse britannique Ruby Hughes rend hommage à la Prima Dona de Haendel, la soprano italienne Giulia Frasi. Pour son premier disque sur le label Chandos, Ruby Hughes a sélectionné des airs, extraits notamment des derniers oratorios Susanna, Solomon, Theodora et Jephtha, que Haendel avait composés spécialement pour "la Frasi", et d'autres arias de compositeurs de cette période. Le résultat est étonnant et confirme le talent de Ruby Hughes, soutenue ici par The Orchestra of the Age of Enlightenment, jouant sur des instruments d'époque et dirigé par Laurence Cummings.
